Astronautics & Propulsion
With advanced aerospace testing capabilities, NTS has participated in every major space project since the inception of manned space exploration. We use our vast resources such as 10-foot diameter thermal vacuum or a drive-in EMI/EMC chamber located in facilities throughout our laboratory network to provide convenient aerospace testing capabilities for aerospace equipment: satellites, missiles, space electronics, aircraft and aircraft-related products. We are equipped nation-wide to perform severe environmental testing and hazardous flow tests, including temperatures to -300 degrees F and +500 degrees F, and hydrogen flow testing at up to 5000 psi.
Most recently, NTS has done extensive testing on component parts for the The Mars Science Laboratory (MSL). The MSL, known as Curiosity, is a NASA rover scheduled to be launched between October and December 2011 and perform the first-ever precision landing on Mars. The MSL rover will be over five times as heavy and carry over ten times the weight in scientific instruments as one of the Mars Exploration Rovers.
Commercial Aircraft
NTS performs research and development, tests and systems evaluations on a wide range of commercial aircraft, systems and components. Services include dynamic response, acoustic intensity and modal analysis on aircraft structures and systems; evaluation of electronic and hydraulic systems for advanced aircraft; fuel and cryogenic fluid systems and more. Defense and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
NTS performs research and development, tests and systems evaluations on a wide range of military aircraft, vehicles, systems and components, including our work on the Joint Strike Fighter Program and various UAV and rocket systems. Defense testing services include dynamic response, acoustic intensity and modal analysis on aircraft structures and systems; evaluation of electronic and hydraulic systems for advanced military aircraft and vehicles; fuel and cryogenic fluid systems and more.
Satellites
NTS provides a a wide range of satellite technology testing. While our focus lies typically with fuel tanks, solar panels, electronics, composite antennas, pressure vessels, batteries and mechanical devices. We can custom engineer any test to include vibration (table surfaces up to 100 sq. feet), acceleration, shock, climatic and aging (-300F to +500F), EMC, helium leak tests, vacuum bake-out, pressure cycling and burst tests, hazardous testing among others.
Precision Cleaning
Our Los Angeles facility is a state of the art laboratory where we provide precision cleaning of vital aerospace components and hardware in one of our Class 10,000 cleanrooms. We also offer precision cleaning at launch sites and staffing for prime contractor facilities.
Quality Assurance Registration
NQA, the registration division of NTS, is known internationally as a premier provider of management support services, and is one of the largest quality registrars in existence, having registered over 25,000 world-class quality management systems. NQA offers AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 registration as well as supplier audit services. Our clientele, which includes such industry leaders as NASA, Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and the European Space Agency have all experienced the value-added service that NQA brings to the quality registration industry.
Managed Services
Managing efficient, profitable laboratories is our business. Paying continuing expenses for a function utilized only around 50% of the time is disadvantageous. By using NTS's services you only pay for what you use, when you use it. NTS works with our clients determine the best solution for your internal testing needs, and help you get the maximum return on the facilities and personnel investments you've already made. We provide in house laboratory management, enabling you to have the aerospace testing and evaluation services you need on-site when you need them.
