Santa Rosa — Specialists in Telecommunications and Broadband Interoperability

The technical experts at NTS Santa Rosa have an average of 15 years of experience in interoperability testing. This state-of-the-art facility contains over fifty enclosed rack mount cabinets, each with 24 Cat 6 cables, 8 single mode and 8 multi-mode fibers, for OEMs to install and test their products. We utilize the latest technology to ensure the interoperability of your telecommunications products.

How can NTS accelerate your speed to market?

Voice Switching Interoperability The NTS Telecommunications Network Architecture and Interoperability Laboratory (NAIL) provides telecom equipment manufacturers and service providers a unique environment to test interoperability of next generation packet-based VoIP devices with the legacy circuit switched equipment. The NAIL provides three legacy Class 5 digital switches to test against a Lucent 5ESS, a Nortel DMS 100 and a Siemens EWSD. Interoperability of TR-57, TR-08 and GR-303 interfaces can be tested, verified and certified by NAIL engineers and technicians. A Nortel CS-2000 softswitch and a number of other VoIP switch platforms provide SIP and H.248 testing capabilities. The NAIL also contains a host of legacy and next generation digital loop carrier platforms to test against. As service providers gradually convert to VoIP architectures, interoperability becomes critical to ensure a seamless transition to next generation networks.

Broadband Testing and Interoperability The demand for Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) broadband services continues to explode around the globe. The NTS/Phase Seven NAIL is an authorized ITL for TR-67 ADSL modem testing and certification against a wide range of DSLAMs (DSL Access Multiplexers). The NAIL will also test and certify ADSL2 and ADSL2+ modems once testing standards are completed and ratified by the DSL Forum.

Triple Play Testing and Interoperability The NTS Telecommunications NAIL also provides an environment for G.983 Passive Optical Network (PON) testing and interoperability certification. As carriers begin to deploy “triple play” (voice, video and broadband) offerings over FTTP (fiber to the premises) PON networks, the NAIL provides the infrastructure to test and certify interoperability of an ONT (optical network terminal) against a variety of host OLTs (optical line terminals). Some carriers are deploying a FTTN (fiber to the neighborhood) PON architecture where the “last mile” connection to the customer is over copper with ADSL. By combining the DSL test beds with the PON test bed, the NAIL provides capability to test these hybrid fiber/copper networks.
