Chloride Removal

Once upon a time, a great big aerospace contractor searched the world over for the best hoses to use in its ammonium cooling system aboard the International Space Station. The hoses had to be very durable, to coil onto Star Trek-like spools, and ammonium leaks were not an option. The greatest hose in the world for this purpose came from a French commercial hose manufacturer. Unfortunately, the manufacturer rinsed their hoses with tap water at an elevated temperature and allowed the residual chlorides to dry on the interior, convoluted surfaces of the hoses. Oops!

NTS developed a custom process for heating the hoses, polishing it with DI (Deionized) water to a virtually chloride free state, and successfully removing enough chlorides to make the hoses usable.

NTS is always ready to work with you to make suggestions and enhancements to your cleaning requirements. Or we can follow you own special cleaning requirements. Our substantial resources have enabled us to find the right methods for verification of chloride removal, while a heater tank brought back into service specifically for the process allowed us to keep set up charges to a minimum. We welcome source inspection, but we are also comfortable working without it.
