Aerospace Propellants
Aerospace propellants fall essentially to the following classes: petroleum, cryogenic, hypergolic, and solid. Alternative rocket fuels include hydrogen peroxide and xenon ion. All but the solid propellant methods require piping, various control hardware, and storage vessels that are precision cleaned for particulate; oxygen surfaces also require precision cleaning for hydrocarbons. Aerospace people sometimes give their fuel purchasing and distribution specialists the nickname "fuel kings". In the world of precision cleaning, NTS is easily qualifies as the fuel king, based on the huge volume of all types of fuel and oxidizer lines, flight tanks, storage and transport vessels that we've worked on over the last 30 years.
Expertise In Every Fuel System, All Major Programs
NTS's "resume" includes precision cleaning hydrogen and liquid oxygen lines for the Centaur (rocket stage) and the Space Shuttle, RP1 lines for the Delta rocket, Hydrazine hardware for Titan rocket, and various satellites, as well as 100,000 gallon LO2 tanks and 12 inch supply lines for rocket test stands at Edwards Air Force Base. NTS has in-house testing capabilities for cryogenic applications of every type; we can flow LN2 at pressure or submerge pressurized equipment in our large test tanks. Our experience ranges from being able to precision clean intricate propellant management devices inside hydrazine flight tanks to removing rouge and weld scales from custom gimbals inside the Space Shuttle and Atlas main motor fuel lines.

Delivery
Fuel delivery systems are critical to program schedules. Only one of each large fuel component is made for each launch vehicle - there are no "spares". NTS has an outstanding record of delivering fuel lines and tanks on schedule, precision cleaned to specifications, regardless of the level of rush put on the program.
