Combined Environments Testing

National Technical Systems operates several combined environments chambers in labs throughout the U.S., offering simultaneous temperature, humidity and atmosphere testing. Some of the larger chambers, on the average measure 4 ft³ (0.1 m³) and 8 ft³ (0.25 m³) and can accommodate relatively large parts, such as aircraft rudder activators, telecommunications equipment, and various other devices and subsystems designed to operate in extreme weather conditions and high altitude.

Altitude simulations up to 100,000 ft

NTS has the ability to test your product using altitude simulations of up to 100,000 ft (30km). NTS's chambers cool via direct LN2 induction for maximum cold cycle performance, allowing temperature capabilities that typically cycle from a minimum of -150°F (-101°C) to a maximum of +350°F (+176°C). Humidity capabilities range from 10 - 100%, while the altitude can reach up to 100,000 ft (30km).

Specialized applications for virtually any test

NTS performs many temperature-humidity-altitude tests according to the RTCA DO-160 standard, with typical test length of 65 days, 30 cycles (i.e. 48 hour cycle). However, as always, NTS's climatic specialists posses extensive experience in fixturing, test controls, and test design which enables us to develop specialized applications for virtually any test you may require.
