CE Marking Directive: 93/68/EEC

The CE Marking Directive 93/68/EEC amended most of the "New Approach Directives" to include or modify the existing CE Marking requirements. The 93/68/eec CE Marking directive specifies that all products introduced into the EU market must be CE Marked. It is a good idea to place the CE Marking on the outside of your shipping container so customs officials can easily see that the contents are CE compliant.

The CE Mark is an all inclusive mark indicating that the product meets all applicable directives in the EU. In most cases, the producer must perform the following tests:

  • Meet the Low Voltage Directive requirements by completing a Products Safety Conformity Assessment
  • Meet the EMC Directive requirements by completing an EMC Conformity Assessment
  • Generates a Technical Document File (TDF) and/or Technical Construction File (TCF)
  • Generate a Declaration of Conformity (DOC) signed by an officer of the company
  • Affix the CE Marking on your product.
