NTS performs research and development, tests and systems evaluations on a wide range of military aircraft, vehicles, systems and components, including our work on the Joint Strike Fighter Program. Services include dynamic response, acoustic intensity and modal analysis on aircraft structures and systems; evaluation of electronic and hydraulic systems for advanced military aircraft and vehicles; fuel and cryogenic fluid systems and more. NTS also conducts FAA and private aircraft industry development and evaluation programs.

NTS has an extensive history and current involvement testing rocket systems, field use explosives (grenades and other fragmentation devices), and non-lethal weapons. NTS operates five separate test ranges dedicated to providing ballistic testing on virtually all weapon systems. Typical calibers tested range from 9mm to 120mm. Facilities are equipped to conduct a wide array of severe and dangerous tests on weapon systems, ordnance, rocket motors, hazardous materials and commercial products. One of the most complete ordnance test facilities in the country, it offers safe, cost-effective, error-free testing of ordnance, munitions and hazardous materials including climatic, dynamics, functional and live firings.
