FTTx Testing

Fiber is best suited to deliver the ever-increasing demand for bandwidth to homes and businesses. Fiber to the Premises (FTTP) or Fiber to the home (FTTH) is establishing itself as a viable platform for delivering voice, video and data services to consumers. This "triple play" of telephone service, high-speed internet, and television from one source is the next-generation of telecommunications for the average consumer. Aiding in the deployment of fiber and optical components and systems, NTS's up-coming FTTx testing suite will accelerate the development of optimized FTTH solutions.

NTS's FTTx testing suite will include physical layer testing of optical return loss and reflectance, chromatic dispersion, and polarization mode dispersion (PMD). Performance FTTx testing will measure Carrier-to-Noise, Composite Second Order, Composite Triple Beat, Cross Modulation, Output Impedances, and Output Return Loss. Finally, network FTTx testing will include all network metric measurement based on ATM-PON network or EPON for Ethernet based network. Applications FTTH testing will cover ITV testing, VOD testing, VOIP testing, QOS testing and more.
