TL 9000 is the ISO 9001 derivative developed by and specifically for the Communications Industry to drive consistency in expectations, increased performance and continual improvement. The industry group QuEST Forum, a unique partnership of communications service providers, suppliers and industry liaisons, has defined TL 9000 within a pair of handbooks: Management System Requirements and Management System Measurements. Organizations may register to any combination of the three options within the Requirements (Hardware, Software, and Service) tailored to the nature of their business. Product categories further detail the appropriate measurements which must be tracked throughout the registration, critical data which can then be used to benchmark an organization's own performance against the aggregate of its peers via the QuEST Registration Measurement System (RMS), truly valuable market information.
In an increasingly dynamic industry, many Service Providers and OEM's require TL 9000 throughout their supply chain as their own assurance of stability. Even if your customers have not yet mandated TL 9000 Registration, can your organization afford to be without this information?
